The long-term outlook of Indian civil aviation is for continued phenomenal growth. According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India will experience an overall growth rate of 25% per year for the next ten years. This growth will be reinforced by further development of US-India aviation ties; what the US Embassy recognizes as one of the "brightest spots" in the US-India relationship.
To these ends, the US-India Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) was established in 2007 as a public-private partnership between the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), US aviation companies and the Government of India.
The ACP supports the growth of the Indian civil aerospace sector by working directly with the Government of India to identify and execute projects that encourage collaboration between US and Indian stakeholders and provide access to US expertise, technology, and best practices.
